Parks are an integral part of living a happy and healthy life. West Midlands Interchange consulted with the community to build two new community parks on their site, based on the community’s recommendations.
Through thorough consultation, and after many conversations, we sought to understand what the local community wanted to see from these two new parks, and the design team has been working hard on incorporating this feedback into their designs. Most important of all, is that these community assets reflect the area they sit within and are parks that everybody who lives and works in the area can use and be proud of. The local community will soon be able to see these designs, and that within the 109 acres of parkland the site will include nature walks, active space and play areas for the everybody in the community to enjoy.
The project will also include the planting of 18 hectares of additional woodland alongside hedgerow and tree planting, and green corridor connecting Calf Heath Wood with Calf Heath Reservoir and enhance the Staffordshire and Worcester Canal corridor and towpath for recreation and leisure.
